At the 138th Canton Fair, Venezuelan buyer Brian Cato, who has attended three consecutive sessions, filmed numerous videos about new energy vehicles. “Chinese new energy vehicles are popular among many overseas consumers,” he told reporters, adding, “This has created numerous opportunities for my business.”At the GAC Group booth, he was drawn to the “GAC Integrated Energy Storage, Charging, and Swapping Technology.” A GAC representative explained that this technology reduces charging time to just five minutes.

The company has already built 25 ultra-fast charging stations in Thailand and plans to achieve a “hundred cities, thousand charging points” deployment by 2027.Beyond new energy passenger vehicles, the “heavyweight” new energy trucks also attracted considerable attention at the fair. Zhang Jing, Senior Manager of Automotive Business at Jiangsu Sumec Complete Equipment Engineering Co., Ltd.’s International Trade Department, stated: “The electric trucks we represent consume just over one kilowatt-hour per kilometer. Utilizing energy-saving technologies enables efficient low-carbon and environmentally friendly operations, better meeting the growing vehicle demand in overseas logistics and transportation sectors while promoting green mobility in the transportation field.”
At the new energy exhibition zone during the first phase of the 138th Canton Fair, a dazzling array of new energy products including photovoltaic modules, inverters, and energy storage batteries was on display. It is reported that this Canton Fair continues to promote green and low-carbon development, attracting 305 new energy exhibitors—a 3% increase from the previous session—with 1.083 million green and low-carbon products showcased on-site. Through the Canton Fair, it is evident that China’s new energy industry—from large-scale new energy vehicles to small-scale new energy batteries—not only enriches overseas markets with high-quality products but also helps more countries build clean power through technology sharing and capacity cooperation, thereby fostering local economic and social development.
“Solar photovoltaic power generation offers an excellent solution to electricity shortages and excessive energy consumption,” said Cao Shiyi, overseas market manager at Dongguan Lithium Smart Energy Co., Ltd. “Our residential energy storage products focus on high energy density and long cycle life, storing electricity generated by solar panels. Paired with a smart app, they enable integrated photovoltaic-storage-charging management, empowering household energy self-sufficiency. This has attracted buyers to purchase our products and discuss production capacity cooperation.”
Italian buyer Morosini expressed optimism about Dongguan Lithium Smart Energy’s comprehensive energy storage solutions, noting: “Europe’s volatile energy prices have driven surging demand for home storage. This product not only meets performance standards but also prioritizes user needs in its design details, revealing significant collaboration potential.”Chinese new energy enterprises are also creating employment opportunities and boosting welfare income for people in other countries and regions. At Shandong Lanjing Yitan New Energy Co., Ltd.’s booth, three foreign employees were observed. Nawaz, a Bangladeshi staff member, was actively promoting new energy products like high-voltage cabinets and energy storage units.
Having joined nearly two years ago, Nawaz has participated in two Canton Fairs and now serves as sales team leader, with wages five times higher than when he started.Jiang Lijuan, the company’s vice president, stated: “We are also expanding production capacity overseas. This not only solves localization service challenges through mutual benefit and win-win cooperation but also helps create employment for many local people.” Hefei Buno Solar Technology Co., Ltd., participating in this Canton Fair, is also accelerating its “going global” strategy. “We have established factories in Indonesia and South Africa, and this year we are planning to build a photovoltaic factory in Italy to better serve the European market,” said General Manager Dai Xijun. He added that the company will actively expand its presence in countries along the Belt and Road Initiative in the next phase.“We persist in independent R&D for inverters and lithium-ion battery products, with exports reaching over 190 countries and regions,” Dai Xijun noted. “From control software to high-end equipment, we continuously pursue joint R&D for new products to create greater value for customers, sharing opportunities and expanding the market together.”
