With the rapid increase in the penetration rate of new energy heavy-duty trucks domestically, the charging pile market is also ushering in new opportunities.
Showcasing the Latest Achievements in Industry Development
The 21st Shenzhen International Charging Infrastructure and Energy Storage Industry Expo was held at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center (Futian). As China’s first specialized exhibition focused on the charging infrastructure industry chain, it gathered over 350 charging equipment enterprises nationwide in Shenzhen to comprehensively showcase the latest industry advancements. Concurrently, the 21st China New Energy Vehicle Charging Infrastructure Development Conference was held.

A variety of products, including DC fast chargers, AC chargers, and Euro-standard chargers, were on display, attracting attention from international visitors including those from Poland and India. Shen Xi, General Manager of Ruihua, stated that the company specializes in the R&D, manufacturing, and sales of new energy charging piles and power storage systems, providing one-stop charging pile technology and production solutions globally. On the opening day, it already attracted considerable attention from foreign visitors.
According to organizer statistics, the exhibition drew over 10,000 professional visitors on its first day. Attendees from across China—including photovoltaic and energy storage enterprises, charging operators, new energy vehicle manufacturers, energy investment and construction companies, municipal construction units, power departments, property management firms, logistics distributors, and public transportation agencies—participated in organized delegations. The vibrant on-site exchanges demonstrated the industry’s robust vitality.
Energy Storage Products Gain Favor with Overseas Clients
Foreign visitors were a common sight across the 30,000-square-meter exhibition area. “Nearly half of the clients we hosted on the first morning were international,” noted Li Zhen, General Manager of Chixu New Energy Shenzhen. His company’s products have been exported to over 30 countries and 500 cities worldwide. ” said Li Zhen, General Manager of Chi Xu New Energy Shenzhen, whose products have been exported to over 30 countries and 500 cities worldwide.
The exhibition featured multiple China-Overseas Charging Infrastructure Procurement Matchmaking Sessions, where professional buyers from Russia, Germany, Spain, Hungary, South Korea, India, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Mongolia engaged in negotiations with exhibitors. The exhibition also hosted a forum on Indonesia’s energy transition, renewable energy, and new energy electric vehicle ecosystem development. Indonesian representatives provided detailed insights into the local new energy vehicle market’s current status and prospects, as well as testing and certification standards and procedures for charging pile imports, and announced charging pile procurement plans.
After hosting a group of Polish clients, Shen Xi told reporters that overseas expansion has become a key focus for the company in recent years. Its products are now sold across Europe, Central Asia, and Southeast Asia, with overseas orders showing a steady annual growth trend. Beyond charging piles, energy storage products have also gained significant favor among international customers.
In fact, as the domestic penetration rate of new energy vehicles has consistently surpassed 50%, China’s charging pile industry is experiencing unprecedented competition. Globally, while electric vehicle adoption is booming, regions worldwide still face varying degrees of gaps in charging infrastructure development. According to the International Energy Agency (IEA), by 2030, the world will urgently need 5.5 million public fast-charging piles and 10 million public slow-charging piles.
Heavy-Duty Truck Charging Infrastructure Accelerates Expansion
“Heavy-duty truck-specific” emerged as a buzzword at this year’s exhibition. Multiple companies prominently displayed their heavy-duty truck charging stations at their booths. Chi Xu New Energy’s 480-kilowatt dual-gun heavy-duty truck charging station became the company’s crowd magnet, drawing a steady stream of inquiries. Li Zhen explained that electric heavy-duty trucks require large battery capacities, so charging stations typically employ a “dual-gun simultaneous charging” model for higher efficiency. This model delivers up to 400 amps per gun, with dual-gun charging reaching megawatt-level peaks, fully charging a truck in just one hour on average.

Beyond heavy-duty charging stations, Electric Flash Plus also showcased its “Tianshan Series” smart charging stacks, suitable for electric heavy-duty trucks, mining dump trucks, construction machinery, and electric vessels. A single stack can connect up to 20 charging guns, enabling simultaneous charging of multiple vehicles within a site. The stack achieves a maximum efficiency of 97.5%, minimizing energy conversion losses.
Behind this corporate sprint into new territory lies the rapid rise of the new energy heavy-duty truck market. In recent years, increasingly stringent environmental policies have significantly boosted the penetration rate of pure electric heavy-duty trucks in China. By 2024, cumulative domestic sales of pure electric heavy-duty trucks reached 82,700 units, marking a 139.4% year-on-year increase. Concurrently, major battery manufacturers and automakers are enhancing vehicle range through technological advancements and increased battery capacity. Long-term projections indicate pure-electric heavy-duty trucks will gradually expand beyond specialized transport scenarios like ports, mines, and industrial parks into medium-to-short-haul and even long-haul trunk transportation. This trend creates substantial growth opportunities for charging桩 enterprises, accelerating infrastructure development. Leisheng New Energy charging stations utilize liquid-cooled direct charging with dual-gun capability, supporting 480kW DC power. This provides heavy-duty truck customers with rapid charging at high voltage levels. When cascading multiple units, the system enables batch charging for engineering projects during cluster supply transportation.
